This page features personal creative experiments (sometimes team work). Stuff that isn’t necessarily about games (but could be!), that I like to do as side projects (ok not all so side projects as you’ll find stuff I did during my Master’s Degree here as well).

Soundscapes
I enjoy creating experimental, ambient soundscapes from field recordings.
This one, lengths, is composed from the recordings I made in Iceland, with my Sony PCM m10.
Sci Fi mash up
I am working on building a Sci Fi sound effects library using Max/MSP to process sound files or to synthesize them. Here are a few mash ups of my work in progress. You can also view this blog post to get a more detailed description of this work.

Master’s Degree Final Project
This project is what animated me for the second half of my Master’s Degree in Sound Design at the University of Edinburgh.
It’s not exactly a side project as I did this full time for at least 3 months, but it is very much experimental in many ways, and especially an experiment for me as it was the first time I had the opportunity to work on a project of such a scale.
You can find out more about the project details here, it basically consisted of an 11 channel interactive audio visual installation, designed to support my research on immersion through sound design. It places the participant on a ship at sea. The environment reacts to wheel movements, and generatively creates a surround soundscape while adapting visuals, which are projected through multiple layers of tulle fabric, giving the illusion of a 3D space.
Exploring Entropy
This project was the result of great team work, credits to Juan José Ripalda, Gaby Yanez, Euan McKenzie and Adam Howard.
It consisted of a study of entropy, which was represented through an audio visual installation. You can find out more about this project here.
Max/MSP Custom Synth
The making of the synth was an individual project, it was done using a Korg nanoKONTROL2, mapping all the controls (knobs and faders) to functions in the MaxMSP patch.
it resulted in a multi-instrumental synth (3 in 1), use in the project below (team work).
Adam Howard, Anton Vasiliadis and myself improvised with our 3 custom MaxMSP patches to this video (public domain) to try to create something interesting.
Waves Music Video
(Music from Tambour)
I consider this an experiment as I was experimental with visual tools that were all very new to me, plugins in After Effects such as Plexus 2, Particular and Form, as well as software like Cinema 4D and dealing with Objs. I plan to make much more of these in the future!
Crystalline Space
This was the first time I used programming to compose (I used Python programming language, with the Pyo signal processing library). Also one of my first projects in After Effects.
This video was finalist for the audiovisual contest The Crystal Interface presented by Electra Mutek | EM15 2014, and broadcasted on screens at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Montréal from 27 May to 2 June 2014.
